The 2025 SkillsUSA New York Leadership & Skills Championships, held from April 23 to 25 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, brought together over 2,500 students from across the state to showcase their technical skills in various trades and leadership areas. This event serves as a pivotal platform for young technicians entering the industry, providing them with hands-on experience and the opportunity to demonstrate their competencies in real-world scenarios. Participants are judged by industry professionals, ensuring that the skills assessed align with current workforce demands. Success at this level not only earns students recognition but also the chance to advance to the national championships in Atlanta, Georgia, further solidifying their readiness to enter the skilled trades workforce. We were pleased to be on-hand at the competition and see the progression of the students.
